I am a green card holder and my passport is still in my single last name...?

I am a green card holder came to the US as a fiance visa, and married to the US Citizen there in the US.Now i am her in the philippines just to visit my family for a while but my problem is when i went to the DFA here in the Philippines i cant change my status in my passport from single to married with my married last name because they said that i need to report my married record to the Philipine Embassy in the US first so that i can get a marriage contract here from NSO..My question is can i come back there in the US with my green card only even my passport is under my single name,my passport will be expired on the year of 2011 and what i plan is i will renew it only in the US when i get there?Because if im going to wait here to for the endorsement of our marriage contract i dont know if how long it will takes and i cant stay here longer coz i am only a conditional permanent resident...Thank you very much I really appreciate for the kindness....

You can use your passport with your maiden name.Just bring a copy of your marriage certificate to connect your maiden name (passport) to your married (green card).I was in the same situation before and didn't had any problem at the Immigration here in the US.Make sure though that your airline ticket is under the same name as your passport. It is indeed a longer process to apply for a passport there if you got married here in the US since they still have to verify it.SInce your passport is not yet expired you will apply for an amendment and for Report of Marriage at the Philippine Consulate that covers the state where you live here in the US.
