Baby Double Green

8 week baby- Green poo?

Hi,

I am currently only breastfeeding my 8 week old daughter & for the last week have noticed that she has been having green poo on & off. sometimes the poo is the normal pumpkin/mustard color but other times it is green.. I know this sometimes happens with formula fed babies but I am only breastfeeding what does this mean? my doc didn't seemed too concerned about it but i just wanted to double check. Thanks so much

How is your milk supply? You could have an oversupply! Too much foremilk causes green poop. Try nursing her on only one side at each feeding. She will get more hindmilk this way. My baby was pretty fussy and gassy with lots of green poop, and it turned out to be an oversupply of milk. If you nurse on both sides, they get too much foremilk.
