I intend to spend much time with my sister this summer trade babysitting so that everyone us take a break and time to bond with each other's children. My son is 20 months, her daughter is 10 months. Looking to buy a double stroller is used a Safety 1st Tandem, the other an umbrella Cosco side by side. I have a truck if the size is not a problem, wondering more about shopping, sidewalks, comfort for children? I lean toward the umbrella stroller, but wondered if the weight difference will matter (but not much as it is in 12 months and clothes for my son to 18 months.) Thanks for any and all advice.
I'm sure it will be ready, but just be aware that side by side stroller will be harder to get through the gates of pantyhose and spaces where you shop. It is also easier for them to reach over and grasp hair, pushing each other and take things when they are side by side. I have an Evenflo tandem stroller for my children, and it is a bit bigger, but I have no regrets. My friend got a side by side umbrella, and was so disappointed that has used it like 3 times, and I wanted to buy a tandem instead. Everyone is different, so it may not be your experience, but I thought you might like to know. Childcare happy, and good luck! Be sure to "test drive" both strollers in the store before purchase. As it is easy to push or maneuver will be different for each brand of stroller, and not necessarily the style (side by side over to front and rear). Much depends on the quality of parts of each company uses for wheels and bearings.
