How do I install the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 car seat with the lap belt for my 3 year old?

Okay so my question is how do I use the shoulder/lap belt on the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 Covington car seat. It seems pretty self explanitory but it doesnt look right at all and I am worried about the safety of my son. Any ideas?
