Is the longfin mako shark and endangered species in the United States?

I must make a report on an endangered species and I am assigned shortfin mako and all the sites I visited havent given me a clear answer. Links would be cool!

Longfin Mako is generally recognized as endangered, and currently in decline, (IUCN World Conservation Union) 2007 Red List of Threatened Species. (www.redlist.org). In the United States, It is considered rare throughout its range in the Atlantic and is under federal protection. Longfin Mako is considered a species prohibited by the highly migratory species management plan for Atlantic fisheries, and it is illegal for either a commercial or recreational fisherman maintain a longfin mako. http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sfa/hms/brochures/2007/October% 202007% 20Compliance% 20Guide.pdf
