I've checked all the big companies (as well as lots of smaller companies), and no one has it available.
I would be using this DNA as a control for comparitive genomic hybribization (CGH) where the male will serve as a "single copy" control.
To beat you "funny" guys to the punch, I know I could isolate my own, but I need a source with a large "Lot #" supply with quality controls run on it. It also needs to be high molecular weight (50-30kb).
Any valid ideas will be rewarded.
By large lot supply, I mean I want it to be available (or last) for a long time. As you may know, one tends to loose of lot of DNA in preparation for sequencing. I guess it would be reassuring to know that if I run out, I can buy more of the the same lot#.
Of course you aren't going to be able to buy human male germ-line DNA. No one's going to be able to give you that, as it would be a violation of civil liberties or something like that.
Why don't you get a sample from yourself or some volunteer, then send it off to be purified under contract by a company like Tepnel Life Sciences? Surely, they'd do the necessary quality controls?
I'm confused by what you mean by a large lot number supply, though...
