Traveling with four months ... I'll be able to check my system is Travel?

I fly with her daughter four months of my (will be on my knees) and I'm bringing my Graco travel system with (the kind with Carseat brackets in the stroller). It is still so low that it requires the use the whole thing, so does anyone have experience with this? Can I check the door or not? I use Midwest Connect. I called the airline to ask and said that I can check the door of a umbrella stroller, but I have no idea what it means "umbrella".
