I have a 6 year old Black Lab and take him for frequent walks. Its never bothered me before that he likes to lead the way, He pretty much just pulls me along where ever, i've just kind of accepted that he's my little brat. Recently i've found out that I am pregnant And am worried that as i get bigger he may hurt me or the baby, Or even when the baby is born how will i be able to take both for a walk at the same time. So my question is in the next few months what can i do to get my dog ready for walking nicely next to a baby stroller? and have him not pull me around while im pregnant?
You could try using an Halti, I used one on both my Labs and it stopped them from pulling, if they try and pull it tugs their head to one side which stops them from trying to pull, it does take a little time for them to get used to it, but it does teach them to walk without pulling, it worked for mine and they no longer need to wear it when out walking.
If that fails then you should try some training sessions.
