and it does not fit in our nissan xterra.
All commercial seats are safe enough if placed properly.
Child under 2 years should travel facing backward, and always in the backseat. Place the car seatbelt properly and tightly. Never let the child without the booster seat belt.
Don't overworry and overprotect your children, IMHO.
